Privacy Policy
Orange Book for iPhone · Effective 2 November 2026
- Orange Book collects no personal data.
- Your transactions are stored only on your iPhone.
- There are no accounts, analytics, advertising or tracking.
- The only network requests fetch public Bitcoin prices from Kraken, and they carry nothing about you.
Who this policy is from
Orange Book is made by Murtaza Zavery, an independent developer in the United Kingdom (“I”, “me”). You can contact me at orangebook.support@proton.me.
What the app stores, and where
The transactions you enter or import (dates, amounts, prices, fees and notes), plus your settings such as your display currency, are saved on your iPhone. They are never sent to me or to anyone else. I can’t see them, and I have no way to recover them for you.
If you use iCloud Backup or back up your iPhone to a computer, your device backup includes the app’s data in the same way it includes data from other apps. Apple’s terms cover those backups, not mine.
Orange Book does not sync through iCloud.
Network requests
To show current and historical Bitcoin prices, the app requests public market
data from Kraken (api.kraken.com). These requests ask only for the
Bitcoin price in pounds, dollars or euros. They don’t include your transactions,
holdings, an account or any identifier. As with any internet request, Kraken
receives your device’s IP address. Kraken’s own privacy notice covers how they
handle it.
The app makes no other network requests.
What the app does not do
- No account or sign-in.
- No analytics, crash-reporting SDKs or third-party code that collects data.
- No advertising and no tracking across apps or websites.
- No access to your contacts, photos, location, camera or microphone.
- No connection to exchanges, wallets or private keys. The app is a record-keeper and never touches your Bitcoin.
Information Apple may share with me
Apple may give me anonymous App Store statistics, such as download numbers. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone’s settings, Apple may also give me crash reports. These don’t identify you, and you can turn this off in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
Exporting and deleting your data
You can export all your transactions as a CSV file from Settings › Backup & Restore. To delete them, use Settings › Delete All Transactions, or delete the app. Either way, nothing remains anywhere else, apart from any device backups you have made.
If you email me
If you contact me for support, I use your email address and message only to reply to you. I don’t add you to any mailing list or share your details with anyone. I delete support emails once they are no longer needed. You can ask me at any time to delete our correspondence.
Under UK data protection law you have rights over your personal data. If you have a concern I can’t resolve, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
Orange Book is not aimed at children and collects no data from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever starts handling data differently, I will update this page and change the effective date above before that version of the app is released.
